Agency is a multidisciplinary design office that works with clients in the non-profit, arts and cultural communities. In addition to contributing a banner design, Agency provided project management and art direction for the Denver project.

AIGA, the professional association for design, is the oldest and largest membership association for design professionals engaged in the discipline, practice and culture of designing. Its mission is to advance designing as a professional craft, strategic tool and vital cultural force.
The organization was founded as the American Institute of Graphic Arts in 1914. Since then, it has become the preeminent professional association for communication designers, broadly defined. In the past decade, designers have increasingly been involved in creating value for clients (whether public or business) through applying design thinking to complex problems, even when the outcomes may be more strategic, multidimensional and conceptual than what most would consider traditional communication design. AIGA now represents more than 19,000 designers of all disciplines through national activities and local programs developed by more than 55 chapters and 200 student groups.
AIGA supports the interests of professionals, educators and students who are engaged in the process of designing. The association is committed to stimulating thinking about design, demonstrating the value of design, and empowering success for designers throughout the arc of their careers.
Through conferences, competitions, exhibitions, publications and websites, AIGA inspires, educates and informs designers, helping them to realize their talents and to advocate the value of design among the media, the business community, governments and the public.

The American Institute of Graphic Artists (AIGA) Colorado Chapter was founded in 1989 by a passionate group of designers who felt the need to connect with our nations oldest and largest design organization, AIGA. Resources for inspiration, networking, business and education are available only through membership with a national organization. Today our community has grown to include over 400 members made up of industry professionals, educators and students (4 student groups). AIGA Colorado offers a diverse series of monthly events and programs to connect people to ideals that will ultimately help them increase their success as a designer. From usability in experience design - inspiration from national speakers - coffee discussions with independents - to reinforcing and supporting design programs, AIGA Colorado strives to fill the needs of all our Members.

Idaho Stew is a small multidisciplinary design studio. This past year they’ve done projects ranging from exhibit and interior design for The Cable Center, branding the PeaceJam Foundation's 10th Anniversary Conference, print collateral for Summer Scholars, interactive design for Concept Restaurants, photography for Vermilion, ArtHouse & HealthONE, video filming in Guatemala for a documentary, to silk-screening some fun stuff in their spare time. All marinated in telling authentic stories for their clients. And we’ve heard they’re darn proud to support AIGA Colorado for this initiative.
Ink Lounge Gallery is a new project created by AIGA Members, Nicky Alden (designer at Chipotle) and Stu Alden (owner of Idaho Stew), that will focus on various printmaking techniques. Their first exhibit, October 5, will present a taste of local folks. November will follow with an exhibit of silk-screened theatre posters from Havana, Cuba. And if all goes as planned, the gallery will be hosting workshops for kids starting Spring 2008. 50% of all gallery proceeds will be donated to 2 non-profit groups.
